The district administration has directed all owners of vacant plots to remove stagnant water from their properties. The directions have also been issued to the local Municipal Corporation, the Additional Deputy Commissioner (Urban Development) and the Chief Administrator, Patiala Development Authority, to get the plots cleaned by their respective owners or else recover cleanliness charges from the latter.

ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੇ ਅਧੀਨ ਆਉਂਦੇ ਪਿੰਡ ਰਸੂਲਪੁਰ ਜੌੜਾਂ ਵਿਖੇ ਅੱਜ ਗੇਟ ਲਗਾਉਣ ਨੂੰ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਹੋਏ ਵਿਵਾਦ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਗੋਲੀ ਚੱਲ ਗਈ। ਇਸ ’ਚ 3 ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਜ਼ਖ਼ਮੀ ਹੋ ਗਏ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ’ਚ ਗੁਰਸੇਵਕ ਸਿੰਘ, ਰਿਟਾ. ਇੰਸਪੈਕਟਰ ਮਹਿਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਅਤੇ ਅਮਰਜੀਤ ਕੌਰ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹਨ। ਜ਼ਖਮੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਰਾਜਿੰਦਰਾ ਹਸਪਤਾਲ ’ਚ ਭਰਤੀ ਕਰਵਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ। ਤਿੰਨਾਂ ’ਚੋਂ ਗੁਰਸੇਵਕ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੇ ਮੂੰਹ ’ਤੇ ਗੋਲੀ ਲੱਗਣ ਕਾਰਨ ਉਹ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾ ਗੰਭੀਰ ਹੈ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪੀ. ਜੀ. ਆਈ. ਰੈਫਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ।

ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਸੂਚਨਾ ਅਤੇ ਲੋਕ ਸੰਪਰਕ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਚੇਤਨ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੌੜਾਮਾਜਰਾ ਨੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ 'ਤੇ 70 ਵਰ੍ਹਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਰਾਜ ਕਰਦੀਆਂ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਪਾਰਟੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਆਗੂਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਰੜੇ ਹੱਥੀ ਲੈਂਦਿਆਂ ਨਸੀਹਤ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਕੁਦਰਤੀ ਆਫ਼ਤ 'ਤੇ ਸਿਆਸਤ ਨਾ ਕਰਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਪਿਛਲੀਆਂ ਸਰਕਾਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਘੱਗਰ ਦੀ ਮਾਰ ਹੇਠ ਆਉਂਦੇ ਪਿੰਡਾਂ ਦੀ ਕਦੇ ਸਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਲਈ, ਜਿਸ ਕਰਕੇ ਭਾਰੀ ਬਰਸਾਤ ਕਾਰਨ ਉੱਛਲੇ ਘੱਗਰ ਦੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਨੇ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਪਿੰਡਾਂ ਦਾ ਚੋਖਾ ਨੁਕਸਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਪਿੰਡਾਂ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾ ਘਬਰਾਉਣ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਭਗਵੰਤ ਮਾਨ ਨੇ ਹੜ੍ਹ ਮਾਰੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਬਾਂਹ ਫੜੀ ਹੈ।
